The Porta Fiberglass Story
A History of Craftsmanship
Porta Fiberglass was founded in 1980 by Scott Porta, with Todd Fuhrmann as principal fiberglass technician. Over the next 23 years the fiberglass division of the company engaged in diversified fiberglass products including a fiberglass donut shaped room for use on 1000 foot communications towers, directional kiosks at the Miami International Airport, access booths for ocean beaches, specialty boats for the motion picture industry most recently for the film
Throughout that process, Todd Fuhrmann and the fiberglass division crew grew to be very proficient in precision lamination schedule development, hand laid lamination layers, strong and regular customer interface all resulting in a high degree of customer satisfaction with the products produced.
In 2001, the company relocated to a new, state of the art facility, shown above.
In 2003 steps were taken for Mr. Fuhrmann to acquire the fiberglass division, and Porta Fiberglass, Inc. was formed. Still in the same location, still under the leadership of Todd Fuhrmann, and with Douglas Morin, also of that division, as a co-owner of the new company.
As you will see in other sections of this site, the fiberglass product diversity is still there and includes the addition of custom coatings for large boats manufactured by
Combined, Todd and Doug have over 40 years of fiberglass lamination experience, which includes all phases of lamination, vacuum bagging, restorations, and painting. Together they have built an exceptional diversified fabrication business and team founded upon a work ethic grounded in honesty, fairness, and attention to detail. The entire Porta Fiberglass crew adheres to the companys strict quality expectations.
Porta Fiberglass, Inc. provides only the highest quality products and service. Cutting corners is never an option.
